Youth Scholarship Opportunities

Staff Sergeant Morrow Arts Scholarship

The Staff Sergeant Alexandria Mae Gleason-Morrow Arts Scholarship is awarded to two Livingston County High School seniors with plans to continue their studies of the arts into their collegiate careers. This scholarship has always been a part of Livingston Arts’ High School Art show, but was recently renamed in early 2017 in honor of the fallen airwoman who was active in her high school arts program and aspired to be a high school art teacher once she had completed her service. We are honored to administer this program and are pleased to announce that the scholarships are now for $350.00 each. Thank you so much for the generous donations from Livingston County employees as well as Coast Professional, Inc.

The Dick Smith Young Artists Grant program is for high school juniors and seniors who are serious about developing their artistic talents. Any junior or senior who resides in Livingston County is eligible to apply for up to $500 to pursue a special extra-curricular opportunity in his or her artistic discipline. A panel of artists and art teachers selects the awardees. Livingston Arts awards grants once a year for opportunities in creative writing, dance, music, theatre, or visual arts (including film, video and computer art).

Selection criteria are:

a) artistic excellence of the student’s work,

b) artistic quality of the opportunity,

c) student’s preparation in the discipline, and

d) good academic standing. There are no need based awards.

Applications are due the second Thursday in May, by 4:00 pm.
