Livingston Arts administers several grant programs for local artists and community groups. Except for the Young Artist Grant program, all of these grants are funded by the New York State Council on the Arts. Our 2015 Grant Recipients:
Ruth Henry from Conesus and Glenn McClure from Geneseo. Ruth will be writing a play and composing an original score titled “Wicket Ways” exploring the popularity of croquet in our area in set in the late 19th century. Glenn will be creating a song cycle for singing, piano and percussion based upon excerpts from Dante’s Divine Comedy.
Artists in Education:
Patricia Lewis-Browne, Keshequa Central School: Poetry in Motion. 8th graders will primarily focus on movement using poetry to better understand movement in everyday life, nature, and time and in space.
Ted Canning, York Central School: Steel Band Residency. 5th graders explore Caribbean history & culture through Trinidadian music making.
